You have a wonderful site! I was a member of the 29th Division from 1962 until 1968 (Maryland National Guard). My interest in WWII led my to this site; looking for information on the type of "Shermans" used by the 743rd Tk. Battalion.

The 29th will hold its 94th reunion in October, it would be nice to see some of the 743rd's men there.

"29 lets go"

Hi Ben, good work I always look forward to seeing the development of your website. I wish I could help. Ben, we own a home in Normandy and would like to offer it to the men and families of the 643rd. It is in a little hamlet of Vidouville between St. Lo and Caumont. It is very close to the landing beaches and Mt. St. Michelle. Very lovely. We would gladly offer it for free as a gift of appreciation for all you have done. Please consider it. Guy.

Can anyone help me names concerning the photo of the HQ company of the 643rd? I believe my father Milt is holding the company flag in the upper right of this photo. I have never seen this shot until I used this fascinating website. Milt passed away earlier this month (Aug 2011) in his hometown of Cincinnati, OH. Thank you.

Is there anyone who can assist my family with information about the murder of Lloyd W. Knapp by Roy A. Prentiss on 6 April, 1943 at Camp Hood Texas? They both might have been members of the 643rd. Lloyd definately was. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank You.

My father was in the 743rd tank division. He entered the service on September 4, 1943. He died when I was 2 so I don't know much about his time in the service. I do have a picture of him next to his tank after the Roer river crossing. His name is Hubert H Pennington. If anyone knew him or heard of him in the service I would appreciate any information.
